8mm Film Develop & Scan Service by Legacy Photo Lab

Legacy Photo Lab provides a high-quality, in-house develop and scan service for your 8mm film, offering a seamless and professional experience from start to finish. Please review the following details before placing your order.

Service Overview

  • Turnaround Time: Approximately 1-2 weeks from the time we receive your film.
  • Standard Scans: Includes 1280x720 resolution files, delivered in both Apple Pro Res (.mov) and HD (.mp4) formats.
  • Upgraded Resolution Options: For 2K or 4K resolution, please select your preference at checkout.
  • Overscan for Full Frame Capture: Experience full-frame overscanning to ensure no details are cropped or lost.
  • Best Light Color Correction: Achieve vibrant, balanced colors for your film transfer.

Order Process

  • Film Check-In: You will receive a notification within a few business days of your film’s arrival.
  • Completion Notification: Upon finishing your order, we will send a confirmation email. If you selected return shipping, we will send your developed film back by mail. (Note: inbound shipping to us is the customer’s responsibility.)

This service is for new film only; we do not process vintage Kodachrome, Ektachrome 160 Type G/A, or Ektachrome 7240 VNF-1. We support the following 50ft Super 8 film rolls:

  • Super 8 Kodak Vision 50D, 200T, 500T (Color)
  • Super 8 Kodak Ektachrome 100D (Color)
  • Super 8 Agfachrome 200D (Color)
  • Super 8 Kodak Tri-X BW Reversal
  • Super 8 Kodak Plus-X BW Reversal
  • Super 8 Foma r100 BW Reversal

Note: Our standard scan aspect ratio is 16x9, capturing the entire frame, including sprocket holes.

  • Processing Time: Orders have a 1-2 week processing period from receipt of film.
  • Liability: By using Legacy Photo Lab’s services, you agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, or damages arising from service use, legal violations, or third-party rights.
  • User Error: We are not liable for under/overexposed or blank film due to equipment issues. If scanning reveals such issues, we will inform you upon file delivery.
  • Shipping: Legacy Photo Lab is not responsible for shipping service issues. We advise production insurance for important projects. Our coverage is limited to raw material replacement in case of lab-related damage or transit loss.
  • Precautions: Every effort is made to handle your media carefully. If loss or damage occurs at our facility, we’ll replace it with an item of equivalent value. We highly recommend insurance for your packages, as Legacy Photo Lab cannot replace lost-in-transit items.
