"When in camp, Indians spent a good deal of time engaging in various ceremonies. For every Indian actually involved in the ceremony, there were several others watching. This drawing provided me with an opportunity to make detailed character studies of three Blackfoot Indians wearing clothing that would be appropriate for important occasions." - Howard Terpning
