Legacy Photo Lab offers a comprehensive Develop/Scanning Service for your Super 8 exposed film, ensuring a seamless process from start to finish. Please take a moment to review the steps below and all the relevant information before placing your order.

Turnaround time for this service is approximately 5-7 weeks from the moment we receive your film. Our scanning service includes HD 1920x1080 resolution files, and you will receive both an Apple Pro Res .mov and a smaller .mp4 HD file of your film.

If you desire 2k or 4k resolution, please select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu during the ordering process.

Rest assured, we will promptly notify you upon checking in your film, typically within a few business days of its arrival. However, please be aware that, on occasion, this process may take a bit longer.

Upon completion of our services, we will send you a confirmation email. If you opt for return shipping at checkout, we will send back your developed film via mail. It's essential to remember that you are responsible for inbound shipping.

Kindly note that our Develop/Scanning Service is exclusively for new film. Unfortunately, we do not accept vintage Kodachrome, Ektachrome 160 Type G/A, or Ektachrome 7240 VNF-1. The accepted 50ft rolls include:

  • Super 8 Kodak Vision 50D, 200T, 500T Color
  • Super 8 Kodak Ektachrome 100D Color
  • Super 8 Agfachrome 200D Color
  • Super 8 Kodak Tri-X BW Reversal
  • Super 8 Kodak Plus-X BW Reversal
  • Super 8 Foma r100 BW Reversal

By default, our scanning aspect ratio is set to 16x9, encompassing the entire frame, including sprocket holes. Trust Legacy Photo Lab for a meticulous and professional approach to preserving your Super 8 memories.

Terms and Conditions:

The Fine Print: Orders placed with Legacy Photo Lab entail a processing period of 5-7 weeks from the time we receive your film. By submitting your film assets to Legacy Photo Lab for scanning or any related handling, you agree, to the fullest extent of the law, to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Legacy Photo Lab, its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors, and suppliers from all claims, losses, liabilities, and damages of any kind, including attorneys' fees. This extends to issues arising from your use of our services, violations of these Terms, any law, or the rights of any third party, even if allegations or proofs of active or passive negligence by Legacy Photo Lab are involved.

Shooter Error: Acknowledging the inherent possibilities of user error and potential malfunctions with vintage cameras, such as under or overexposure, blank film, or jiggly lines due to equipment issues, we strive to address any such concerns. In the event we are unable to retrieve an image or correct an issue after scanning, we will provide feedback upon delivering your file.

The Lab: It's essential to note that Legacy Photo Lab collaborates with reputable external labs for the processing segment of your package. For this aspect of our services, we exclusively offer replacements of raw materials in cases of transit loss or lab-related damage. If your project is of significant importance, we strongly recommend securing Production Insurance.

Murphy's Law: We understand the importance of your media, and every precaution is taken to ensure its safety during its time at our facility. However, unforeseen circumstances may occur during shipping or service provision. Our commitment to you is that if any item is lost or damaged by us while at our facility, we will replace it with an item of equivalent value. To go above and beyond, we strongly advise acquiring insurance for comprehensive coverage, both for replacement of raw materials and to safeguard against loss during shipping. Please ensure your packages are insured, as we cannot replace the value of items lost in transit.
