Leica MONOPAN 50, black and white film
The Leica I revolutionized photography with its introduction in 1925 and defined the 35mm format as the new standard. The compact format quickly gained popularity at the time – and although the 35mm film cassettes used with the Leica I came from manufacturers such as Kodak, Agfa, and Perutz, dealers and photographers colloquially referred to them simply as "Leica Film."
To mark the 100 years of the Leica I and as a tribute to 35mm photography, Leica Camera AG is now introducing a genuine Leica 35mm film for the first time: the MONOPAN 50 black and white film with 36 exposures.
The essentials:
- New Leica ASA 50 Black & White 35mm Film from Leica
- Designed for High Performance Leica Lenses: With a Film resolution of 280 Line Pairs per Millimeter.
- Ultra Fine Grain & Super-Panchromatic Sensitivity: Sensitive to Wavelengths of Light Within & Outside of Human Vision, Including Infrared.
- Designed to Fully Support Filtration: Offering Creative New Opportunities for Photographers using Yellow, Orange, Red, Blue, Green & IR Filters.
- Offered in 4 Distinctive Packaging Options: Allowing Artists to Collect Their Favorite Design.
- Made in Germany.
| Black-and-white 35 mm film, super-panchromatic with high resolution and ultra-fine grain | |
| Characteristics | Fine-grain black-and-white 35 mm film with super-panchromatic sensitization Through targeted adjustments, the film combines extremely fine grain with super-panchromatic sensitization, achieving the highest resolution and exceptional tonal reproduction. This film is particularly suitable for Leica high-performance lenses. Due to its enhanced spectral sensitivity, Leica Monopan 50 is also an excellent choice for infra- red photography. It pairs perfectly with Leica color filters (yellow, orange, and green, https:// leica-camera.com/en-US/photography/lens-filters/colour-filters), offering creative opportunities for producing high-contrast images. |
